What paperwork or documentation needs to accompany international shipments?

International documents have no commercial value and therefore do not require any accompanying official documentation.

Parcels require a variety of documents mainly for customs clearance purposes and to comply with exchange control regulations.

Commercial Invoice

On document with official company markings for any goods that are being SOLD

 

Required with the Tax Invoice.

 

The original form, as well as copies, is required.

Pro-Forma Invoice

On document with official company markings for goods that are NOT intended FOR RESALE

 

Required with the Tax Invoice.

 

The original form, as well as copies, is required.

F178 Form

The original document has to be stamped by the EXPORT BANK

 

Required for goods over the value of R50 000 and intended for RESALE

 

Required for goods over the value of R50 000 and intended for RESALE

NEP Form

The original document has to be stamped by the EXPORT BANK

 

Required for goods NOT intended for RESALE over the value of R50 000.

 

Required for goods NOT intended for RESALE over the value of R50 000.

CCA1 Form

To be filled in correctly and completely.

Not applicable.

 

Tax & Duties:

The receiver has to pay the duties and applicable local taxes. Should the receiver be a registered business, they may be able to claim back the local tax element of the charge.

Customs:

Our client's invoices determine whether the goods attract duty charges and local taxes. It is therefore paramount that the invoice is completed accurately, in detail, and in full.
